Cooperative Members

Our cooperative welcomes four types of members: sole traders, companies, employees of businesses or individuals, and groups or associations.

Sole Trader

Designed for individual entrepreneurs who wish to benefit from the cooperative while maintaining their sole proprietorship status.

Eligibility Requirements
  • Passport Number or National ID: Valid identification document.
  • Name of Business: Official registered name of the sole trader's business.
  • Sector of Operation: The industry or sector in which the business operates.
  • Location: Physical address of the business.
  • Registration Fees: A fee of UGX 20,000.
  • Minimum Share: Purchase of at least 2 shares in the cooperative, with each share valued at UGX 10,000
  • Minimum Monthly Savings: UGX 20,000.

Company

A Company Cooperative Account is tailored for registered businesses that want to leverage the benefits of a cooperative structure. This account allows companies to access cooperative resources, participate in decision-making, and benefit from collective bargaining power.

Eligibility Requirements
  • Company Resolution: A formal resolution from the company's board of directors authorizing the opening of a cooperative account.
  • Company Registration Documents: Official registration documents proving the legal existence of the company.
  • Number of Employees: Total number of employees working in the company.
  • Directors: List of company directors with their contact details.
  • Registration Fees: A non-refundable fee of 100,000 UGX.
  • Minimum Share: Purchase of at least 50 shares in the cooperative, with each share valued at UGX 10,000
  • Minimum Monthly Savings: UGX 300,000.

Group, Club / Association

A Group, Club, or Association Cooperative Account is designed for organized groups, clubs, or associations that aim to benefit from cooperative services. This account allows groups to pool resources, access cooperative benefits, and participate in cooperative governance.

Eligibility Requirements
  • Identification: Valid ID for the group's representative.
  • Name of Group: Official name of the group, club, or association.
  • Number of Members: Total number of registered members in the group.
  • Registration Fees: A non-refundable fee of 30,000 UGX.
  • Minimum Shares: Purchase of at least 50 shares in the cooperative, with each share valued at UGX 10,000
  • Minimum Monthly Savings: UGX 200,000.

Employee / Individual

A Business Employee Cooperative Account is designed for individual employees who wish to take advantage of cooperative benefits such as savings plans, loans, and other financial services. This account allows employees to contribute to and benefit from the cooperative's resources.

Eligibility Requirements
  • Identification: Valid ID (e.g., National ID, Passport).
  • Employee ID: Official employee identification number or card.
  • Details of Employment: Proof of employment, such as a letter from the employer or a recent pay slip.
  • Registration Fees: A non-refundable fee of 30,000 UGX.
  • Minimum Shares: Purchase of at least 2 shares in the cooperative, with each share valued at UGX 10,000
  • Minimum Monthly Savings: UGX 30,000.
